JOHOR BARU: Johor Barisan Nasional has described the decision by three Umno assemblymen to join Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia as “morally wrong”.
State Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin (pic) said while their decision to join Pribumi should be respected by Umno, their action was unacceptable.
They are Sedili assemblyman Rasman Ithnain, Rosleli Jahari (Johor Lama) and Alawiyah Taib (Endau).
“The humiliation is not only to their former party (Umno) but also Pribumi which has accepted them as members,” Khaled said in a media statement released here on Sunday.
He said their decision to cross over was a betrayal to the trust, hopes and hard work given by the leadership of Umno, their supporters and those who voted for them in the recently concluded general election.
Khaled added any party which lost in the election should be the check and balance to ensure the winning party functions well and fulfil its promises.
“The check and balance is one form of service for the rakyat and the country,” he said.
